The Application Process

A prospective member may attend a maximum of two meetings (overall) as a visitor. Prospective members then complete this application and submit it with payment (online or check) to the membership committee for review.
The membership Committee will begin the screening process (checking references, etc.)
If there are no concerns, the Membership Committee will begin the voting process the following week.
The chapter Boss or Membership Committee announces the new members at the chapter meeting after the acceptance by the Membership Committee.

Policies and Procedures

All policies are subject to change and the chapters will be notified of such changes.

Positions in each chapter are limited to one per industry. The classification(s) will be determined by the Membership Committee and shall be clearly announced to the chapter members at the time the applicant is introduced and prior to finalizing membership. In cases of multiple applications received from the same industry simultaneously, the chapter shall choose the applicant that would be the best fit for the MOB and their chapter.
For all members to receive the most benefit from their chapter, they are only allowed to be a member of one industry-exclusive organization. This means that if an organization only allows one member per industry in each group, they will be considered as industry-exclusive.
Before submitting a membership application, a person may attend up to four (4) chapter meetings total as a visitor, but no more than two (2) visits to any one chapter.
The Chapter Leadership Team is defined as the Chapter Boss and Right Hand. Each is appointed by the Regional Director. Additional chapter roles may be chosen by the chapter Leadership Team or the chapter membership.
If a member wishes to change their company or industry classification, they must submit a new Membership Application. Industry changes must be approved by the Regional Director. Company changes may require chapter approval at the discretion of the Membership Committee or the Leadership Team.
The Leadership Team is responsible for keeping the Regional Director informed of any membership changes, including new memberships, chapter positions and changes in member company information and contact information.
Members may only hold membership in one chapter at a time in any region at a time. Regions shall be defined by the Regional Director and multiple applications across regions must be approved by the same in addition to chapter approval.
Dues shall be $150 per year, payable prior to acceptance as a member into a chapter and by or before the end of the member’s anniversary month.
There will be no refund of membership dues after acceptance into a chapter.
Members will be notified two (2) weeks prior to the end of the month before their renewal is due via email from the Regional Director. Members will have until the end of their renewal month to submit payment. If payment has not been received by the end of the month, their membership in the MOB will be suspended until such time as the renewal fee is paid in full (members will not be allowed to attend meetings or functions).
If there is a concern regarding an applicant by anyone in the chapter, they must express it to the Membership Committee prior to the acceptance of the applicant. Objections to membership shall only be made regarding possible overlapping industry classifications, personal knowledge of professional misconduct or complaints, or other ethical concerns that would be considered unbecoming of a member of the MOB.
Any complaints made against another member of the chapter must be submitted in writing to the Membership Committee. The Membership Committee will then review it with the chapter Leadership Team to determine appropriate action(s).
A member may be placed on probation if the Membership Committee determines it be in the best interest of the chapter due to complaints or unethical practices until the matter is resolved.
If a member wishes to transfer to a different chapter, they must have good reason (i.e., time or day conflict) and be released from their original chapter, first. They must, then submit a new application and receive approval of their new chapter.
In such circumstances as the occurrence of medical and/or family emergencies or some other valid reason, a member may receive a Leave of Absence for up to eight (8) weeks upon written notice to the Regional Director. If the member is unable to return after eight weeks, their position may be subject to review by the Membership Committee.
The chapter Leadership Team will act as the Membership Committee if the Membership Committee is unavailable.
Each chapter will provide Mentors to educate members on policies and procedures of the MOB. The members agree to accept and utilize this assistance. A mentor shall only be assigned after that member has attended a New Member Orientation.
All members must attend the New Member Orientation within 90 days of acceptance into a chapter. Furthermore, your orientation attendance is required prior to being the spotlight speaker at any chapter.
During a chapter meeting, your 30-second introduction is strictly time to promote a product/service that you provide so that members can better identify who would be a good client for you. This shall not be a time to recruit or offer enrollment opportunities. Furthermore, at the end of the meeting when the hat is being passed, this is a time to report your weekly numbers or give member kudos. If you are a visiting member from another chapter, you may also invite other members to visit your chapter. This is not a time to further promote your business.

Attendance Policy

It is the accepted consensus that attendance at weekly Masterminds of Biz chapter meetings is critical to the success of each chapter and to each member of said chapter. Therefore:

Each member will be expected to attend his/her designated chapter meetings on a weekly basis. If a member is unable to attend a weekly meeting, he/she will inform his/her Chapter Boss, in advance that he/she will not be able to attend. It is understood that the member will have a valid reason for not being able to attend. This will be counted as an excused absence.
In the event of such an absence, it is strongly recommended that a substitute be sent in the member’s place. (A substitute can be another representative of the member’s organization or any other person who the member deems adequate as a representative. It is the member’s responsibility to make certain the substitute is prepared to act as a professional representative of the member’s organization. The substitute may not be a member of the same chapter). This will not count as an absence.
Failure to attend a weekly meeting without notifying the Chapter Boss, or without sending a substitute, will count as an unexcused absence. Only three (3) unexcused absences every calendar quarter will be permitted.
Upon a member accumulating four (4) unexcused absences, within one calendar quarter, the status of that membership will be re-evaluated by the Membership Committee and/or Chapter Leadership.
At the discretion of the Chapter Leadership, and after trying to resolve an attendance issue, if the Leadership concludes that a member is abusing any of the above policies (including excused absences), then the status of that membership will also be re-evaluated.
